Female Characters to look up to

The girls in the world need role models, people to look up to. Women who are independent and hard working and strong. That is why this post is on who I believe are the best female characters to look up to.

Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl)

I know she’s not the first person people think of when they think of good female role models so let me explain. She is a total bitch yes, no doubt, she is a schemer and a bully and pretty much a horrible person for 99% of the series BUT…She is determined, Has high expectations of herself and those she surrounds herself with and there are a SLIGHT few that she will move mountains to support (Chuck). She does what she thinks is necessary (although it’s not always the right thing to do) to do what needs done.

Scully (The X-Files)

She’s independent and has a strong sense of self. She’s rational (overly so some times).

Blanche Devereaux

Seriously, if I can be that comfortable with my sexuality at that woman’s age all will be right in the world.

Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)

Carol Danvers went against her family and joined the Air Force to prove that woman could be equal to Men. She also became a Kree Warrior (due to an accident but it’s still cool), she is a leader, she’s smart and she works hard for what she gets.

Wonder Woman (Diana Prince)

She is comfortable in her body & it’s not one that teaches girls to starve themselves or diet too often. As an Amazon wonder woman is larger yet still attractive. She stands for what is right and lives by her morals. That plus it’s pretty cool that a heroine is one of the three biggest heroes in the DC universe.

Penny (Big Bang Theory)

You may be wondering, how is Penny higher on the list then two superheroes? Here is my rationale: She is an amazing friend, she goes out of her way to include people others would ignore or treat poorly. She is motherly towards Sheldon who needs it some times, she doesn’t think she is better than anyone and puts up with a whole lot of CRAZY (translates to Amy) in order to make sure nobody feels rejected.

Willow Rosenberg (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

She’s smart, loyal and a great friend. She loses her way but always comes back from it and tries hard to make up for her mistakes.

Black Widow (Natasha Romanov)

I already did a post on this one if you wanna check it out but here is why Black Widow is an awesome role model. She is strong, independent, smart, loyal, she kicks major ass, she is hot but doesn’t show off too much, she wears leather but not in a way that is degrading but a way that is practical for her job. She never gave up on Hawkeye even when he went rogue, she believed in Steve & in Fury in Winter Soldier.

Caroline Forbes (The Vampire Diaries)

She’s a hard worker, a bit anal but she wants everything to be perfect for everyone. She has gone through a lot and usually alone but isn’t bitter about it. She is a great friend and sees the best in people. for more click her name for my feature on her.

Veronica Mars

Another female character who has a feature devoted to her, Veronica Mars is snarky, dependable, could probably be more trusting (but you can kinda see her reasons). She is smart and determined, a good friend and she doesn’t let people push her around, or anyone else for that matter. She doesn’t let the bad things that happened to her define who she is she uses them as motivation.

Buffy Summers

Who in my opinion is the best character to be a female role model, you guessed it Buffy. She’s strong, independent, never a damsel, she does what needs to be done and gives up everything for what is right.
