Top Favourite 25 Directors (For 25 Followers)

To celebrate my 25th wordpress follower I decided to make another favourites list, this time my top 25 directors.

25. Ridley Scott

He’s produced Robin Hood & The A-Team and more and more and more 🙂

24. John Glen

Bond director who brought us such movies as: Licence to Kill, For your eyes only & Octopussy.

23. Billy Wilder.

As a fan of old films (See # 20, #10 & #8) I couldn’t help but put the director of some like it hot; Kiss me, stupid & Sabrina.

22. Spike Lee

I’m also a huge basketball movie fan, and as a basketball movie fan I had to put Spike Lee on this list. He’s produced such movies as Love & Basketball, He got game and his other movies have also been great like: Malcolm X & Summer of Sam.

21. John Singleton.

Four Brothers, Poetic Justice, Boyz in the hood & Shaft.

20. William Wyler.

Another director of old films. He directed such works of art as: Roman Holiday & Wuthering Heights.

19. Richard Donner.

The director of Superman I & II, The goonies, The Lethal Weapon Franchise, & the omen.

18. Jerry Bruckheimer.

Director of The Pirates of the Caribbean, Bad Boys, CSI Miami.

17. Oliver Stone

Director of: Savages, Natural Born Killers & Wallstreet just for starters.

16. Clint Eastwood.

Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, Invictus, Unforgiven, Bloodwork …

15. Robert Zemeckis

Back to the future. ’nuff said but incase you need more convincing he also directed forest gump.

14. Stanley Kubrick

Director of A clockwork orange & the shinning

13. Jon Favreau

Ironman, Co-Director on avengers. Plus he plays happy who I love so…

12. Walt Disney

Seriously he’s walt disney.

11.  Steven Spielberg

okay, so you can’t be surprised at this one. Transformers, Men in Black, Jurassic Park…

10. Frank Capra.

I am a bit of a junkie for old movies (see #8). Frank Capra directed such movies as “it’s a wonderful life” which on it’s own should give him a spot on the list as well as Mr. Smith goes to washington, Lady for a day and So this is love?

9. Francis Ford Coppola.

The godfather director had to make this list.

8. Alfred Hitchcock.

Director of Psycho, Vertigo, pretty much all of my favourite old movies.

7. Quentin Tarantino.

Director of Reservoir Dogs, Sin City, Pulp Fiction etc.

6. James Cameron

He directed the two highest grossing films of all time that has to say something.

5. Martin Scorsese

Leo DeCaprio is to Martin Scorsese as Johnny Depp is to Tim Burton. He’s brought us films such as “The Departed” Staring Leonardo DeCaprio, “Shutter Island” Staring Leonardo DeCaprio, “Wolf on wall street” Staring…you guessed it. Has also directed cape fear, casino, Taxi driver… the list goes on.

4. Peter Jackson

Heavenly Creatures, Lord of the Rings Franchise, King Kong, I could go on and on.

3. Tim Burton

The mind that brought us…lots of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. Movies such as: Batman & Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Bettlejuice, Corpse Bride etc.

2. George Lucas

Star Wars. Need I say more.

1. Joss Whedon

Avengers, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
