So this weeks episode of S.H.I.E.L.D was AMAZING. I love how it focused on the villains as opposed to the heroes, plus the inclusion of Agent Carter was also great. For this specific post though I am going to focus as the episode did on the villains.
Lets start with the Doctor.
“The Doctor” as we know is Skye’s father. His wife was murdered following research done by Whitehall. His daughter was taken from him by SHIELD. Revenge, the oldest motivation in the book. He wants his family reunited, in the afterlife. He wants to take down those who took his family from him which includes SHIELD and his new partner Whitehall.
As far as the comics are concerned there is a theory that the doctor is actually Mr. Hyde. “The doctor” seems to be a reference to a past medical history, which Mr. Hyde does have, we have seen his temper and the super-human rage strength that comes with it.
This could also mean that Skye is Hyde’s daughter Quake “Daisy” . In the comics Daisy is for a period of time the director of shield, I know the names don’t match but in this week’s episode the doctor did say that Skye was not her real name.
As far as this theory goes we’ll have to wait and see. But what we do know for sure is that the doctor is angry, he wants revenge and he wants those who have wronged him to pay. He could definitely be a threat.
His wife/Skye’s mom is a bit more of a mystery. Was she an alien, part alien, superhuman? what was with the not aging thing? It makes sense as far as Skye’s lack of reaction to the GH 325. Earlier in the episode there is a mention of “blue angels” came to “end man kind” which suggests these “angels” were Kree. Way to connect GOTG 🙂 So maybe Skye is part Kree (some relation to Quill maybe?)
This would not be the only speculation of the Kree species in the show as the GH 325 is taken from a blue alien, again if Skye is half Kree that could explain why she didn’t react to GH 325 the same way as Coulson.
Moving on we also have a bit more insight into Ward.
I find it hard to determine his true goals. It is obvious Grant has feelings for Skye, he promised to never lie to her again, and I believe that.
